Set of 9 Philippe Starck Costes chairs Aleph Ubik 1980s Postmodern


Unique set of 9 three-legged black chairs designed by Philippe Starck for the Cafe Costes in Paris.
These chairs were manufactured by Aleph Ubik, a French company, in the 1980’s.
We obtained this nice set from the 1st owners, they had 6 pieces at the dining table and 3 pieces upstairs. These 3 were only added when they had extra guests.
The seats have been reupholstered with black crocodile skai leather.

French architect and designer Philippe Starck is best known for is wide range of buildings, interior design, and household objects. From restaurants to hotels, furniture to space modules, het has put his ingenious stamp on more than 10,000 designs. Starck’s work is seen in the collections of European and American museums, including the Musée National d’Art Moderne, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the MOMA and the Brooklyn Museum in New York City, the Vitra Design Museum in Basel and the Design Museum in London.
