Lange rustieke teakhouten bank uit één massieve plank
Een lange, robuuste teakhouten bank waarvan de zitting uit één dikke, massieve plank bestaat. Het bovenblad is met de hand ruw bewerkt, met golvende randen, een doorlopende kwast en een levendige houttekening: echte boomstam-look. De plank rust op vier schuin uitstaande poten, wat de rustieke bank een stoere maar luchtige uitstraling geeft. De plank is vermoedelijk gemaakt van oud, hergebruikt teakhout (old teak / reclaimed teak).
Waarom wij dit kozen
Wij kozen deze bank om het hout zelf: de grillige vorm, de handbewerkte golvingen en de warme honingkleur maken van een eenvoudige zitbank bijna een sculptuur. Met 1,76 meter is hij lang genoeg voor een eettafel en toch smal genoeg voor een gang.
Stijl en interieur
De bank past mooi in een wabi-sabi, Japandi, landelijk of ibiza-/boho-interieur. Gebruik hem als eetkamerbank, als halbank, aan het voeteneind van het bed of als lage plantentafel. Het natuurlijke hout combineert goed met linnen, riet, klei en beton.

Conditie: goede staat. De plank heeft het karakter van oud, hergebruikt hout: een natuurlijke, doorlopende kwast (gat) aan één uiteinde (foto 6), krimpscheuren in de lengterichting en in het kopse hout (foto 7 en 8), oude inkepingen en enkele gevulde of donkere plekjes (foto 7). Het oppervlak is bewust ruw en golvend bewerkt en dus niet vlak. De poten zijn strak en glad afgewerkt en duidelijk jonger dan de plank (foto 4). Geen houtworm.

Long rustic teak bench made from a single solid plank
A long, sturdy teak bench whose seat is a single thick, solid plank. The top has been roughly worked by hand, with undulating edges, a through knot and a lively grain: a true tree-trunk look. The plank rests on four splayed legs, which give this rustic bench a robust yet light appearance. The plank is probably made from old, reclaimed teak.
Why we chose this piece
We chose this bench for the wood itself: the irregular shape, the hand-worked undulations and the warm honey colour turn a simple bench into something almost sculptural. At 1.76 metres it is long enough for a dining table, yet narrow enough for a hallway.
Style and interior
The bench suits a wabi-sabi, Japandi, country or Ibiza/boho interior. Use it as a dining bench, a hallway bench, at the foot of the bed or as a low plant table. The natural wood combines well with linen, rattan, clay and concrete.

Condition: good condition. The plank has the character of old, reclaimed wood: a natural through knot (hole) at one end (photo 6), shrinkage cracks along the grain and in the end grain (photos 7 and 8), old notches and a few filled or dark spots (photo 7). The surface has deliberately been worked rough and undulating, so it is not flat. The legs are cleanly and smoothly finished and clearly younger than the plank (photo 4). No woodworm.
