Een massief eiken zuil of plantenstandaard met getordeerde kolom (barley twist), daterend uit het begin van de 20e eeuw, circa 1920.
De fijn gedraaide Salomonische kolom rijst op uit een stevige, getrapte sokkel. De verhoudingen zijn bijzonder sterk: hoog en architectonisch met 109 cm, maar visueel verankerd door de gelaagde vierkante voet. Het blad is opgebouwd met een omlijst, ingezet middenpaneel, een traditioneel detail dat vaak voorkomt bij revivalmeubels uit de late 19e en vroege 20e eeuw. De zuil is donker gebeitst en gelakt, wat de diepte van de houtnerf en de dynamiek van de draaiing versterkt.
De getrapte voet en zichtbare paneelverbindingen getuigen van ambachtelijk werk uit die tijd, niet van latere massaproductie.

A solid oak barley twist pedestal dating from the early 20th century, circa 1920.
The finely turned Solomonic column rises from a substantial stepped plinth. The proportions are particularly strong: tall and architectural at 109 cm, yet visually grounded by the layered square base. The top has a framed, inset central panel, a traditional detail often seen in revival furniture of the late 19th and early 20th century. The pedestal is finished in a rich dark stain with protective lacquer, enhancing the depth of the grain and the dynamic twist of the column.
The stepped base construction and visible panel joints reflect period craftsmanship rather than later mass production.
