Bijzondere sculpturale fauteuil van Ron Arad voor het Italiaanse Moroso, uitgevoerd in rood kunststof met een matte, licht gestructureerde afwerking. The Big Easy heeft grote, afgeronde armleuningen, een golvende rug en een smalle voet. De vloeiende lijnen lopen rondom door, waardoor de fauteuil vanuit iedere hoek bijzonder is om te zien.
Het ontwerp gaat terug op de stalen Big Easy die Ron Arad in 1988 maakte. Voor Moroso werd de vorm vertaald naar andere materialen en productietechnieken; deze kunststof uitvoering dateert als ontwerp uit 1991. De volle, bijna opgeblazen vormen bleven behouden, maar werden uitgevoerd in doorgekleurd polyethyleen. Deze ongelakte uitvoering is geschikt voor buitengebruik en heeft bij ons jarenlang buiten gestaan.

Stijl en interieur
Mooi als vrijstaand object in het gras, tussen het groen of op een terras; het rood contrasteert prachtig met een groene haag, siergrassen en een oude bakstenen muur. Ook binnen een uitgesproken blikvanger in een postmodern of eclectisch interieur.

Ron Arad ‘The Big Easy’ armchair for Moroso – red sculpture for home and garden
A remarkable sculptural armchair by Ron Arad for the Italian company Moroso, in red plastic with a matt, lightly textured finish. The Big Easy has large rounded armrests, an undulating back and a narrow base. The flowing lines continue all the way round, making the chair a pleasure to see from every angle.
The design goes back to the steel Big Easy that Ron Arad made in 1988. For Moroso the form was translated into other materials and production techniques; this plastic version dates from 1991 as a design. The full, almost inflated forms were retained but executed in through-coloured polyethylene. This unlacquered version is suitable for outdoor use and stood outside with us for years.

Lovely as a free-standing object on a lawn, among greenery or on a terrace; the red contrasts beautifully with a green hedge, ornamental grasses and an old brick wall. Indoors, a striking eye-catcher in a postmodern or eclectic interior.
