Deze zeldzame set van vier hoop back Windsor stoelen dateert uit de late 19e eeuw en draagt het WD-stempel van het Britse War Department. De stoelen overtuigen niet door ornament, maar door proportie, materiaal en een eerlijke gebruiksgeschiedenis.
De zittingen zijn elk uit één plank iepenhout gezaagd en tonen een prachtige nerf, versterkt door decennia van gebruik. De diepe matte patina, afgesleten randen en subtiele kleurverschillen zijn onnavolgbaar.

Set of four 19th-century British military Windsor chairs – WD stamped
This rare set of four hoop back Windsor chairs dates from the late 19th century and bears the WD stamp of the British War Department. The chairs convince not through ornament, but through proportion, material and an honest history of use.
Each seat is cut from a single plank of elm and shows a beautiful grain, enhanced by decades of use. The deep matt patina, worn edges and subtle colour variations are impossible to imitate.
